Welcome to the Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association’s website! Please take a few moments to review the information provided herein. We hope it will generate personal excitement as you discover the many ways our organization supports the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra as well as youth music education in our region. Through the generosity of our donors, event sponsors and volunteers, our organization maintains the largest music education program in the United States.

The Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association was founded in 1952 to support the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra in the areas of education, promotion, fundraising and development. The current membership, in excess of 350 men & women, is dedicated to ensuring that music and youth music education remain an integral part of Dayton and the greater Miami Valley. Please help us keep music alive and well, now and in future generations.

We invite you to consider becoming part of our organization. There are many ways to participate, including Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association membership, becoming a docent in the schools, contributing to or actively working within our extensive scholarship programs and competitions, individual and corporate sponsorships, volunteering at concerts, or helping with our exciting fundraising efforts. We encourage you to become involved as a way to utilize your skills or develop new ones and meet new friends who share your values of service to the community and a love of music and children.

You can find Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association volunteers throughout the community serving in schools as docents, educating school children prior to attending Young People's Concerts, ushering youth concerts, providing hospitality to musicians, collecting used instruments to be refurbished for Dayton Public School children and assisting with fund raising campaigns.

The Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association also hosts major multi-faceted community events and ongoing musical and social events for members throughout the year.
